Presentation of good practice

The good practice Europe in your living room is based on young people and covers a regional area.

The online workshop series is a project created through cooperation between organizations working on the promotion of European mobility opportunities. The cooperating partners are the member organizations of the Eurodesk network operating in the Southern Great Plain region, EUroGuidance Hungary, EURES Hungary, Europe Direct and the Szeged organizations of the Erzsébet Youth Fund. During the project, the cooperating partners organized four online workshop conferences presenting EU information and opportunities. The planning, implementation and evaluation of the projects were solved through online consultations, using the Eurodesk zoom platform as the workshop conference interface. The possibilities of the world of online platforms brought lively dialogue, regular online consultations, and the idea of an online workshop day was born quite quickly, to which each organization could bring its own knowledge, information and strengths. The event took place on April 22 under the title Europe in Your Living Room, an online workshop day. On this occasion, each organization involved introduced itself, and after introductory presentations, each organization undertook an interactive workshop.

We planned the next events to provide greater interactivity for the participants, with workshops as the focus. Then we focused on expanding the opportunities of specific language areas, so that there would be a deeper opportunity to dissect the learning and employment opportunities of Germany and Austria. April 22, 2020 – Europe in your living room May 27, 2020 – Europe in your living room II. – Fuel up with info! June 30, 2020 – Europe in your living room III. – Germany and Austria on the menu October 15, 2020 – Europe in your living room at the SZTE Career Days.

We designed the good practice by holding a presentation at the beginning, with short, illustrative presentations, and placing greater emphasis on interactive workshops and involving resource persons with specific experience. The point in each case was a targeted presentation of the mobility opportunities offered by the European Union, with different shifts in emphasis. Over the course of the year, we gained more and more experience in cooperation, joint planning, implementation and evaluation. We tried to incorporate and take into account the new experiences, the experiences, and of course the feedback from the participants at the next event. The specific themes of each event were similar on each occasion, based on what was described above, but at the same time adapted to the focus of each event.

The professional networks implementing the project are local actors in every region of the country. Thus, the takeover of the project depends solely on the willingness of the local actors to cooperate. During the year, there was a region that organized a similar event with its partners.

The cooperation between professional organizations working on the promotion of European mobility opportunities, although it has changed many times in time and intensity over the years, can actually be traced back to the period of preparation for Hungary’s accession to the EU and was strengthened after accession. Previously, the Hungarian coordinator of the Eurodesk network, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2020, was the National Youth Service for Mobility, or Europe Direct , or other networks initiated joint projects (e.g. joint relocations, joint training, exchange of leaflets, Splash EU! and other campaigns). The current project was started to be planned at a physical meeting of the cooperating partners in the fall of 2019. At that time, the initiators thought in a joint information day and workshop; i.e. the Csongrád-Csanád county partner organizations of the Eurodesk network, the Szeged specialists of Europe Direct , EuroGuidance , EuRes and the Erzsébet Youth Fund. Szeged, the year 2020, prevented this with the virus situation. The organizers had to choose a different path to implement the project.

Adaptability

Our cooperation was built on openness, respect for each other’s work, and equal partnership. During the evaluation of the project, the sectoral partners indicated that the work became easier for all of us by sharing the tasks. THIS ease, task and burden sharing also facilitated creative, joint planning. The professional relationships strengthened during the project later resulted in new collaborations and more active involvement in each other’s projects .
